Vault Inspection and Confined

Description: Upon completion of this module the student will be able to summarize DOT regulation 192.749 Vault Maintenance, explain the purpose of DOT vault maintenance and inspection procedures, state the frequency of DOT vault inspections, and recognize and explain the potential causes of hazardous atmospheres in vaults. The student will be able to demonstrate the vault entry monitoring requirements, identify the necessary safety equipment required for vault entry, demonstrate the vault inspection procedures, and explain OSHA’s confined space requirements (29 CFR 1910.146) for permit-required confined spaces. The student will be able to state OSHA’s definition of a confined space, identify the four classes of hazards that may be present in a confined space, state the confined space entry planning steps, and list the pre-entry training requirements for confined space entry. The student will be able to summarize DOT Regulation 192.751 regarding Prevention of Accidental Ignition.
