Interference (AC/DC)
Description:
This course describes fault and stray currents that adversely affect cathodic protection systems. Course content includes the recognition of possible fault interference problems and mitigation techniques, and how to install, evaluate and adjust critical bonds. Upon completion of this module the student will be able to define foreign interference, be able to list the three types/categories of stray current, be able to describe static, dynamic, and AC induced stray current. The student will be able to calculate the total circuit resistance of a given bond and be able to list the methods to eliminate stray current interference.
