Description: This training module will aid team members in understanding of compliance issues with the DOT Office of Pipeline Safety regulations, modal company procedures in the development and review of emergency plans, and public and contractor education, including the damage prevention-one call systems. Specific topics include: emergency plans and review intervals, damage prevention programs including the one- call system, and public and contractor education regarding natural gas and products pipelines. Reactions team members should be able to prepare the appropriate procedures concerning damage to a pipeline from an outside force, and develop action plans to safely respond to an accidental release of natural gas. Review of the contents of emergency plans, and the actions required for ”pre” and “post” release are discussed.
