Electrofusion

Description: This course discusses the basic principles of electrofusion of plastic pipes. Upon completion of this module the student will have an understanding of the necessity for Operator Qualification. The student will have a basic understanding of the different kinds of plastic pipe used in the electrofusion process, the student will understand the basic principles of electro fusion, will be able to perform the steps involved in the electrofusion process, will be familiar with the qualification procedures used to inspect and test the fued joints, and the student will be familiar with the common safety precautions to take when handling polyethylene pipe. The student will understand the hazards of static electricity, as well as steps to take to prevent sparks.
